I had to haul arse to houston this morning so I could file a report. I talked to the police and they said they have to see the vehicle. They said I could do it the next time I come in town and it would be fine.

Diesel,
Had my house broken into and my rifle stolen. It is the worst feeling. I'm sorry you are going through this. And the ipod is just insult to injury.
I'm definitely down for a diesel rifle fund.
If other OB posters step up too, put me down for $40.
It is the least I can do for the best thread I've ever read on TD.
But if we help you get a new rifle, you have to get it engraved;
"Diesel/Outdoor Board" or something

Diesel- FYI, ur scope was shooting a bit to the left. I fixed it for u this evening. And u have bad taste in music, so I sold ur iPod.

you guys are awesome. I sincerely appreciate the thought but there is no way I would take any money from you guys. It does suck arse that some shithead has a rifle that my dad gave me but I have other guns and there are people out there hurting worse than me.

Damn Broseph...if you didn't have bad luck, you wouldn't have no luck at all.
I hunted at a friends hunting club last weekend and right before turning in, I told him I was going get my gun out of the truck and take it in the camp. He said I have absolutely nothing to worry about if I leave it in the truck unlocked all night. Everyone I met seemed like really good people but frick that. I ain't trusting nobody. My shite got locked up.
That being said, I'd kick in some cash to help replace a fellow hunter/LSU fan's rifle. Lemme know.

I couldn't make this shite up if I tried.
I just got a call from my roommate saying that a late 20s/30s black guy just knocked on our door and asked if he drove a big black truck. he says "no but my roommate does." the guys asks "did he get a gun stolen?" At this point my roommate is confused as hell and a little nervous. The guys says that his little cousin is friends with the kid who took it and he found out about him stealing it. He takes my friend out to his car, where a young(14ish) kid is sitting, and tries to sell it to him for $50. He ended up getting it for nothing. My friend asked him if he had the ipod but he said he didn't know about it but if he found out anything he would bring it back.
I doubt the story about there being a friend involved. What most likely happened is that the kid in the car took it and got caught. the older guy brought it back and made up the story to keep the kid out of trouble. Or maybe he stole it himself and tried to make some cash on the deal.
either way, MY GUN IS BACK

Seeing what all transpired in the Green Jeans thread, the thieves may have decided they didn't need all that heat brought down on them and decided it was best to just give the gun back and not mess with Diesel and the Outdoor Board.
