too soon, had to run in as buddy I was fishing with had to get in at a decent time, started running in at 1 probably. stopped at pelican pass on way in and picked up a couple while tide wasn't moving I know if we would have waited it out till tide picked up could have ended up with a mess of fish.

We caught 30 specks on Timbalier. Caught a ton of small school trout.

Because hearing the air off the wings of the first teal of the year right before it gets daylight is the. best. rush. ever.

Cuz you can't buy the feeling of seeing that big buck step out, or a 40 mallards locked up in your decoys, or a bucket mouth inhaling a topwater offering first thing in the morning. Also have to add the sound of a yo-yo going off and the ensuing fish splash.

Because it's not about the meat.

It's about the hunt.

1) it's fun as frick
2) it eases my mind
3) I like the idea of knowing that I could survive on my own (though I know I'll never have to)
4) it taste better when you kill/catch it

Don't give it up. Don't ever give it up. I'm working my angle to go back sometime this week.

BTW, TBoux, the bite was mid day.

Damn that is a rough w/e. Glad I stayed home.

We caught 2-3 trout one day last year...spent over $300 for those trout. I like fall fishing.
