I'm just here to piss people off. I love my Chevy. No problems other than bad windshield wipers that I seem to neglect. Brought up in a Chevy/gmc family, I was always told never to buy a ford.

Every Chevy I pass has a lift, loud exhaust system, large rims, and an aftermarket bowtie in black, pink, camo, or an American flag. They also have one daytime running light out. Yes there are some modified Fords, Rams, and Toyotas but Chevy owners take it to unprecedented levels.

Here's my 2cents

BIL bought a 2012 f150 xlt new.
When 4wd is engaged it sounds and feels like transfer box has gravel in it. this has been since day one. Dealership says it should sound like that??

Electric power steering started whining loudly at 43k. Assuming it is going out and will need to be replaced. Can't just replace motor. Have to buy entirely new steering assembly. Around 1,500 for parts/labor. Searching around on the internet shows this is a known problem on f150's. Some people have had 3 new assemblies by 50k.

Looks like most Ford owners aren't having issues like that. Let's not start the horror story battles. Plenty of issues from each manufacturer to go around.

From the sound of this thread, more of you should look at Tundra

my dad owns a Tundra. Thats the roughest riding truck I've ever been in- for a half ton with standard factory equipment. That said, if Toyota ever makes a 3/4 ton, I'll give them a look.

speaking of noise, why do dodge trucks seem to be so loud? Is it after market exhaust systems or do they come "loud" from the factory?

Man the old Fords had noisy power steering pumps. My neighbor's 08-ish F150 is the same way.

Much easier to work on, and cheaper parts.

Because they literally count every truck, from F-150's to F-650's in the same bucket.
