First marina to go full service has my buisness. They'd need 4-5 people dedicated to backing the boats in and parking the vehicles.
This would eliminate all the dumbasses who choke up a launch because they can't back a boat in.

i think $13-$15 would cover things/salary. Attendants would obviously work for tips as well.
If i owned the launch i would have 15 fulltime employees. 2 to work bait,3 to work store,5 to work fish cleaning stations,5 to work launch duties

i don't want someone to back my boat in, but i would definitely use a marina in Venice that had longer hours. we used cypress cove during teal season, and couldn't even buy ice, gas or frozen shrimp at the marina at 7PM. and they open at 6AM, which was after shooting light.

i mean, they cater to sportsmen. what kind of mickey mouse operation doesn't sell ice at 7PM? you'd get better service at a gas station.

will drive the cost of a launch up to about $40.

Let's take a poll in this thread then.

How many of yall would pay $13-15 for someone to back YOUR boat and trailer into the water.

My vote is a profound NO.

There are many times where I would pay $100 not to have to wait 20 minutes in line behind a bunch of dumbasses.

I agree with you but you will never eliminate all of this. Every boat/trailer I've ever seen is different from the one next to it and they all have certain characteristics that make them launch differently. the anal boat owner wouldn't allow another person to launch his boat without detailed instructions and this would not speed anything up.

my answer is no, i laugh at people at the launch that cant back in or back that trailer all the way down. i know exactly where my trailer needs to be and i can do it myself in a few minutes. a guy told me at leeville this summer, man you are good at that and fast. i said well i been doing it my whole life. people dont take time to learn how to do it. i think you should have to launch and put your boat back on the trailer in order to even buy it...but hey boat sales would decline...lol it would be a coool idea but im not paying for a service i can do..sounds like a rich man thing to do..buy 60k bay boat and knows nothing on how to launch...see it every summer

Nope-- but I would let them wash my boat while my fish are being cleaned

there's much more to it than just backing your boat in. They'd back it in while you and your guests sit in the comfort of the boat, park your vehicle.Store your keys for you, retrieve your vehicle when you get back to the launch and pull you out of the water.
I say that's worth it. I myself am a master boat launcher. Never takes more than 2 minutes either way. I'd pay good money not to have to deal with the launch idiots who always get my blood pressure up whether coming or going at a launch though.

you've obviously never been to Sweetwater then. Jacks crew, albeit a small one, does their very best to move things quickly by launching peoples boats for them. They don't go park your vehicle or go retrieve it for you but they're the best at moving things quickly over there. They don't do it for everyone either, just the ones who ask or look like they're having problems.

What about liability? What if they frick your shite up? Wouldn't that drive cost of it up a lot? I wouldn't want anyone I don't know or trust touching either my boat or truck, JMHO!

All the "no" answers in this thread answer your original question.

well, the backing up of a boat wouldn't be really that big of a deal.I'm sure whoever would be doing the backing up would be pretty good at their job. And hey,if you didn't trust them with your keys or parking your vehicle, you could opt out of that if you wanted.

It would be a bad arse option in my opinion to have the "valet" option at a boat launch.
