Don't the same limits apply to bowfishing as well as fishing with a rod and reel. If someone is just shooting everything they see they should be prosecuted based on laws already in place.

I've honestly never done it. I hear it is fun though.

I have been on at least a half dozen bowfishing trips. We have never shot an undersized redfish. Yep never, if it looks close we pass and the guides are quick to point out a small fish as well.

Not to mention that redfish are the only game fish allowed to be harvested with bow and arrow?

This true? If so, I may need to call my buddy and tell him to quit posting pictures of those sheepys they shoot.

I don't think sheepshead are considered "Game" fish.

i don't think i've ever used face paint or a face mask when i'm in a tree stand. I guess it's more important to be smart about when you move. who would have thought

I am not saying I think it should be outlawed, but I am surprised how big of a pass the sport gets when it comes t wanton waste. Or, are all those carp/gar being cooked?

I tried out a head net during bow season. But that was for mosquitoes. It wasn’t worth it for me. I can’t stand having shite over my face like that.

I love how everyone assumes people are going out there and whacking undersized fish and just letting them lay. I’m sure it happens, but no more than when undersized fish die via rod and reel.

Been on several trips, never shot at anything that appears close to being undersized. As for the ones that pull off the arrow and may die, is it any different than throwing back and undersized trout that was gut hooked and floats off belly up? There is a built in amount of waste with and hunting or fishing activity. How bout unrecovered deer? Should deer hunting be banned? No. As long as the ones doing the sport are doing their best to recover all game Im ok with it. Just because u dont like an activity doesnt mean it should be banned. Stay within the limit and Im ok with it.

Carp are an invasive species. Not subject to wanton waste. Kill em all. And yes we eat the gar we shoot.

For an animal that shouldnt be in the ecosystem to begin with? Doesnt bother me. Should we let all apple snails live that are destroying the freshwater marsh? What about nutria? Invasive species are just that, invasive. I dont know how much u get to south LA, but i have seen prime duck leases destroyed by snails and turned into mud flats. Nutria cause huge amounts of coastal erosion. So my feeings toward all invasive species remains the same, kill em all.

There. If you want to argue with yourself about it, knock yourself out.
