I have my grandfathers model 66 no dash. Still have the original box. Absolutely love shooting this gun and carry it when in bear country.

LSUEnvy I have never had it out of sight. The gun is as pure a pistol as there ever was. I absolutely love it and after shooting it versus a semi auto 9mm. I'm selling the 9mm.

In other words you cannot go wrong my friend.

Ruger GP100 have a great holster for it but rarely carry it. Very heavy and I have better CC guns.
This. Mine is the 5 inch version. I use it as my woods pistol. Have killed a couple hogs with it.

I have one that was my grandfathers. It was his daily carry. Very nice feeling firearm. Shoots well.

But my daily carry is a Glock 19.

ETA: Here's my snubnose. Paid $125 for it in 1990 or 91.

Got one just like it. Had it at least 30 years now. I put a set of Hogue grips on mine. Factory grips just too small for my hand. Fits perfectly now and is more accurate. Was offered 600 for it not too long ago.

You should rethink that. Probably sells for about $600 today.

That’s a fine, valuable wheel gun my friend.

Don't laugh but I bought a cheap 357 mag years ago at Academy on sale for Black Friday. I believe I paid a little over $150 for it. It's a black 2" barrel Rossi and it's fun as hell to shoot. Do I carry it? No. But, it'd make a nice hole in someone and I'd use it for home defense

Have that same gun in silver (bought it in the mid-90s from Jimbo's). Put .38 hollow points in it so my wife can handle it.

I have two S&Ws - a 686-1 6” barre. It’s my favorite gun ever. Had a trigger job somewhere down the line. Soft shooter. Trigger is butter smooth and dangerously light if shooting single action. If you shoot it single action at the range you will have a premature discharge.

The other is a 686+ 2” with a lock. I love it almost just as much.

Saw them for sale at a range, couldn’t decide so I bought them both. No ragrets.

ETA - I occadionally carry the 2”. But it’s heavy and not easily concealed. More my “going run an errand at night in questionable area gun”

Have 3 that I can think of, don't carry anything. I had my model 19 sliding around under my truck seat for years(in holster).

S&W pre-locks - 19-3 (nickel), 65-3, 66-3, 28-2, all 4”. N-frame 357s (mod 28-2) can take heavy load 357 all day. The K-frames are best for 38 spl high use with 357 mixed in.

Ruger Security-Six 2.75” stainless
and Ruger LCR. The LCR in 357 has steel frame vs aluminum of the 38spl model. Helps a little w/357, but nicer to practice w/38spl. Great trigger on the LCR, better than my 642 Performance Center.

Of all my favorite is probably the Security-Six. It’s indestructible and can be had for a fair bit less than a comparable Smith.

Got a couple nice 44mags for the spin-off thread. :)

SW 686 4”, wouldn’t carry it, weighs too damn much for EDC. Great gun though

Ruger SP 101 3.1 inch barrel

This 357 will be around to pass on to my kids and will still work perfectly while my plastic pistols will be falling apart by then.
