you better not be walking down those steps in the rain wearing some old Lacrosse boots.

Also, there's a company on 190 between Opelousas and Port Barre that sells those stands, or at least there's one erected on the side of the road there. I imagine the shorter one is pretty stable, but I'd be scared to death climbing those stairs to the tall one. The column is similar to a big roadside advertising sign, so it can take the wind, but those spiral staircases though.

I'm pretty sure I've seen that stand on 190 going into Port Barre at a business but last time I passed it was gone. Guess I know where it went.

You can call me whatever but I would not hunt in that. I could get up to it just fine.

I’d be a huge baby trying to get back down.

Hunted something similar but they did it out of a huge tree.

Big shooting platform up top. Amazing.

Thy named all their stands. They called that one the Swiss family Robinson.

A buddy of mine had a truck cab welded to pipe ~30’ high. You had to go up a ladder to get into it. It was absolutely terrifying going down.

That ladder looks really suspect. I could see the domino effect going full force with that.

Some of those treads look a little lacking in support.

Pretty sure the people that own that business own the tract for sale where those stands are.

C Channel steps.

They would be pretty damn sturdy.

I see that now at first it looked like wood with no visible support under it. I was like hell no.

Still wouldn't make that first step coming back down any more comfortable until it didn't give

How would you hold carbon steel C-channel to a concrete piling? I doubt they are pushing in the c-channel while the concrete piling is still setting up, but that’s the only way I see it being sturdy. Cant weld it, maybe some JB weld or other epoxy. Either way, I wouldn’t risk using a step that high up with one anchor point. I’m easily 240# with my gun and gear.

pretty sure that is a metal pipe not concrete tee. you can see the weld seems and where the flanges are bolted together. I believe the guy owns a business that builds foundations for huge pipeline facilities and stuff, so I am sure he knows what he is doing.

They look to be embedded, hell they are probably tied into the rebar, I doubt anyone with the funds to built and install that would cheap out on the design phase.
