4 Motors is amateur hour unless they are Triple 7s. 5 is all the rage these days.

That boat is cheaper than the aluminum bay boat half the board was claiming they were buying.

I would say they probably don't have 7 marines on it because they don't wanna break down every trip.

But it has Mercs on it, so it's a moot point

I doubt all 4 Mercs can spontaneously combust at the same time.

Combust? Nah.

More like all the motors have some random, worthless, not important sensor decide it wants to be a dick...and put all 4 into guardian mode for no reason.

Or decide they don't wanna charge the batteries

Or decide to not have power steering

Or decide to blow a powerhead, then when the new powerhead gets put on, that blows too after under 10 hours, and then the replacement one for that decides to have issues too under 10 hours.

Good thing he has multiple engines. Because those piece of shite Mercury outboards, will leave you stranded.

Any particular year or model? Want to avoid one of those when buying a new(used) boat

I would stay away from years 1960-2088 at the very least.

If you honestly know someone that had that many problems, which I highly doubt, they need to find a new dealer. If a powerhead goes after replacement, the dealer did nothing to find the cause of the problem. That doesn’t happen without Mercury directing the consumer to a better dealer. We are that dealer for south Louisiana.

4 motors going into guardian? There is absolutely nothing in the SmartCraft system that will bring other motors into guardian if one has an issue. You have a lot to learn.

You’re welcome to stop by our shop and see 3 Yamahas on a Yellowfin that couldn’t make it an entire summer without blowing all 3 powerheads. Yamaha only covered 1. Needless to say, they’re in the process of being pulled off and replaced with 3 Verados. Our customer wants proven reliability and knows where to get it. Had Verados on his last boat that performed flawlessly for over 2000 hours.
