This is the exact reason I have made it a habit to step on my e brake as soon as I stop. I have started grabbing shite to put in the boat out of my truck and forgot to put it in park before. I was still sitting in the truck so I wouldnt have made it all the way in the water but if my e brake hadnt been on it would have been an arse puckering experience.

Saw a guy do that at the Butte LaRose landing beneath I-10 years ago. Before he went to get his truck, he was yelling at the others in his group not to help him. He was going to get his boat on the trailer by himself. He kept telling them, "Do not touch my boat!". Acting like a real arse. He backs the trailer up and jumps out of the truck and runs to the boat. Never took the truck out of reverse. Everybody was screaming at him but he just ignored. By the time he got to his boat and turned around, the truck was submerged to the windshield....Running.
