Don’t have time to buy one and I don’t won’t to buy one on the island because it will probably be 10x the normal cost. I have tried Academy and they are sold out. Bass pro and Calebas don’t show any available online.

Where can I look in the BR area?

Papa was u trying to get the hook off because a storm was coming Saturday? And ended up just cutting the line. If so I was next to you on a contender.. we had 9 adults and a kid on the boat so we probably stuck out. I saw a guy cut his hook off looked like it was tangled in a rope attached to the rig

make one. Use 1.5-2" pvc pipe.

Heat it and bend it to a hook. Put an eye hook on a cap and then cap both ends.

Should only take 15 min.

This is a terrible idea. Do not do this.

PVC+sun+heavy boat hooked to an immovable object. That’s why it’s a terrible idea.

Hell I’ve seen bay boats bend up aluminum rig hooks, wtf do you think is gonna happen to pvc.

Yeah, ya'll are using bigger boats than I was thinking about.

I had one that I used on a 22' bayboat that never had any problems with.

Anything bigger than 24' would be an issue.

Buy some 1" aluminum conduit and a muffler shop can make you one.

PVC isn’t a great idea.

On my dads boat growing up we made one out of 1” aluminum conduit. I just don’t have the time to get my hands on one before I leave for a fishing trip.

I found one at superior bait and tackle.

Thanks fellas.

I made mine out of 1" heavy wall tubing I bent with a set of tubing benders and installed an i-bolt on the rope side.

I do not know if the material makes this idea cost prohibitive, I used a drop piece from work.

Do yourself a favor and either make or buy one with the shock absorber. I skipped this step on the first one and It will keep you from straightening the hook out in a hard chop.
