What's your go to defense ammo?

What's the ammo you prefer for personal defense? From what I've been reading, seems like a lot of people really like the Federal HST.

Keep a 12 gauge in the closet (thanks oleyeller)

I got a nightstand full of rocks and a slingshot.
If it was good enough to kill Goliath, it is good enough for the hood rat coming to get me.

It is regular run of the mill practice ammo. I am not going to be precision shooting in a home defense situation....
