What's the board's opinion of a DA 1911?

caught this video today and thought it was an interesting concept.

it could hold the interest of the people that are scared to carry it in the "cocked and locked" position (like me). i feel like my muffin top could turn the safety off when i go to sit down.

If you want DA/SA just buy a better gun that was originally designed for it.

Agree with all the previous posts. DA for a 1911 makes no sense. Get a platform that was built that way from the beginning.

Those old Para Ordenance Light double action (LDA) 1911’s had pretty awesome triggers. They were double action, but I they were super light and smooth pulls. I’m pretty sure they had some pretty serious issues with reliability though... I have no idea if they’re even still making them

What holster do y’all use?
ETA: a lot of holsters I’m seeing on google images show non-ambidextrous safeties. Is that to keep it from getting snagged?
