Entire axle is in the process of being replaced due to torsion failure.

Well that's pretty discouraging.

Yeah hopefully Alx had a lemon and it isn't a common problem.

For my boat I just used a stiff brush and 409. Used scotch bright pad gently on the really stubborn spots. Then I used mothers back to black on it because they were starting to dry and crack a little. Then aerospace protectant because it lasts longer than armor all. They're not clean and shiny anymore but they held up 2 years without getting worse.

Eta: sounds like a lot but it took me like 30 minutes when I was bored one day.

They were shitty seats, didn't feel like buying new ones and I had all that sitting on the shelf already

I wouldn't go out and buy anything special. Hit I with 409 and a brush, use a pad if it doesn't work, throw some armor all on it if you think it needs it

The component company was very quick to offer me parts at cost. I think they had lots of failures.

Oh, and here's another thing. I get the number off the axle. Marine Master tells them(UFP/Trailer Buddy) that number matches a leaf spring axle, not torsion.

Even after getting the measurements asked for, they could not match it. They are building one just for me. If it doesn't fit, I'm screwed.

Clean it with regular soap and wax it with regular car wax is what I do.

Make sure you clean it the day you get back if you want to avoid the infamous brown streak

If it's just mildew you can make them look brand new.

I've used several shower cleaners with great results. Scrubbing bubbles stuff worked well, but really a scrubbing pad was the key.

if yal do use bleack make sure and get a vinyl protectant[sp] with something for preventing mold/mildew or your problem will get worse..
bleach cleans it good but then leaves a perfect environment for mold/ mildew to grow..

2006. The axle is like $150 and the trailing arms are $45 per. I was very happy with those at cost prices.
