I’ve cycled many handguns in and out of my truck, currently have a LCR .357 keeping me company plus my carry gun. Looking for something different.

The real reason I’m asking is to get the OB’s opinion on a mini or micro Draco as a SHTF while on the road gun. I’m looking for a reason to justify owning one, besides just to have it. Because there’s lots of guns I’d like to “just have”.

Either steer me clear of it or tell me why it might be a good idea. Thanks.

Taurus g2c. It is supposed to be reliable af and you can get it under $200.

Eta: somehow missed the second half of your post when I first read it. Nvm.

A vehicle isn’t a secure place to keep a firearm long term

Why would you leave a loaded weapon unattended in a vehicle?

I had a mini draco...and used to keep it in my trunk. When I would take it out to go target shooting I occasionaly shoot it without hearing protection. It was loud. Really loud. Also in low light it threw a massive fireball. After awhile I just thought it was impractical. I keep an 870 home defense model in my trunk now. It seems as though its quite easy to overthink all of this. Also, if you want an AK just stick to a standard size. An Arsenal slr 107f can't really be beat as an all around AKM. It sure is easier and more fun to shoot than a draco.

Taurus .45/.410 loaded with buckshot in the door storage pocket, Glock 19 hanging on right side of my driver's seat, AR15 with 30 round magazine hanging upside down with Velcro on my sleeper curtain. That's my favorite one.

I guess I’ll have to get a gun stolen out of my truck to realize leaving it in there is a bad idea

I actually have a judge, and it was a truck gun at one point, but it’s my dedicated snake charmer.

I do want an AK of some sort. I love the sound, like you know when someone is popping off an AK. Plus, I don’t have one and I love firearms that nobody really has. Kinda show off to my “all I need is my glock” buddies.

I guess I want a little more fire power on the road, just in case, but I’ll keep looking around.

LCR .357

What's the recoil like? I have an LCR .38 that's quite snappy.

I can see the .357 being rough on some people, but it isn’t terrible. Then again, I haven’t shot a handgun, or any firearm for that matter, that had me saying “that kicks too much, I don’t want one.”

Now I don’t go shooting 50 rounds of .357 to practice, it will beat you up after a while. I’ll go through a couple cylinders then swap over to 38. For what the .357 is, and the gun’s purpose if the time came, I assume you wouldn’t feel shite.

If someone were to be looking at the LCR, I’d recommend the .357 all day.

Marlin 336 or Winchester 94 are the original truck guns.

My humble opinion, henry 30-30. I remember dad carried one in his truck for years when I was a young fella.
