Always liked and had good success with my Yentzen Sure Shot duck call.

Hard to do a chuckle though.

Bayou Beast duck calls. Very affordable and sound great. Mr. Dale Bordelon is awesome.

I don;'t duck hunt anymore and my Shurshot is 40 years old. Maybe they are better now. I still have a lanyard of Faulk's.

I could do one back in the day, but I agree the Sure shot wasn’t the easiest one for that. But I always liked the raspiness of the call so it didn’t matter.

Shoot Dale a message on FB. You can go to bayou beast calls or Dale Bordelon. He just makes them from his home but he usually keeps a pretty good inventory to ship.

You can call blue wings in with a mallard chuckle or by whistling yourself in many cases. A basic whistle call for drakes and the duck commander hen teal are about as good as it gets for calling teal. We've always used mallard calls in teal season and done well.

Best BWT imitation I’ve found is saying “BRRR” through an MVP.

Haydel's collection is pretty well the gold standard in Louisiana, and the DC hen teal call is a producer as well in my experience using both a lot.

Last year switched to Riceland's teal call and have found it to have more reach, than those above and the tone is pretty accurate. Haydel's tone I find to be not lifelike at all, but it makes some noise and has killed a zillion birds.

I reckon how those cane/cedar Bayou Beese calls react to moisture?? Are all his calls wood guts?

The Bayou Beast calls sound good though I find them best for finesse more than reach. I bought one of his blue wing calls and found it to sound nice, but kept pinning the reeds when I tried to stand on it and that's just not gonna cut it hunting my open marsh with passing flights off our line. The Riceland has done that well so far 2 seasons in.
