the whole head looks small and semi-feminine to me....certainly not killed in the rut, or the taxidermist didnt have the right size form,,,, and that happened alot back then...

I would say high 140's. Being a 10 with good g1s may get over the 150 mark. Hard to tell considering the fact that it's an old mount that may make the rack look bigger then what it is. Either way, it's a pretty deer. Might be cool to try to get another cape and try to get a new mount done on it.

That's what I was thinking. If it were my deer, I would have it redone.

140+. Good mass, width, and tine length and it's a 10pt.

NO way that deer is over 140". I would be shocked if it broke 135". G1's are decent but other tines arent long. 4" bases at most. Around 20 inch beams. I've got got a 140" ten on the wall that dwarfs this one. It's a nice deer though.

Some of you saying 150" need to judge my deer, I would have some 170"s

The deer being a ten point adds about 6 inches to it, not that big a deal

That's exactly what I want to do to it. I think it needs to be redone. You can tell the current mount is old school. The neck on it is real skinny and could look a lot better. My grandfather has been dead for about 6 years now and I would like to keep it if my uncle or no one else wants it just so I could have something that meant a lot to him. There is a storage room in the back yard that is full of plaque mounts. I've gotten a couple to hang up in my office at work. One of our customers builds lamps out of antler sheds and I want to take some of them to him and get him to make a couple lamps for me.

The one on the right is my first buck when I was 16. The middle and left one are the ones I got from the storage room.

This is one of the lamps the guy has made. I like it a lot and def would want some of my grandfathers antlers made into one.

That lamp is awesome! I wouldn't cut up a deer I shot to make it, but I would definitely put one in my house and office.

120's. Nice deer, but the ears are positioned in a way that makes the rack look wider. Decent mass. 130's tops.

Great looking buck rolltide. Update this thread when you get him scored. He's a dandy, regardless of what he officially scores

Thanks man. I hope to get it scored sometime soon. I wish my grandfather would have had it done when he was alive.

The first pic of your Pow Pow's buck needs "ISWYDT" added to it.

And I have a 133 inch ten that doesn't have the mass this one appears to have, or the tine length at each position. Mine was 19.5 wide and nearly 20 ish on each main beam. I could be wrong just guessing at a picture, but this one appear to dwarf my 133.

Yours ain't 133 then. You know scoring a deer isn't about just throwing out numbers. You can actually get pretty close to its measurements by eyeballing it and then add them up.

The problem is that people score deer in a thousand different ways. I have a deer on the wall that has scored anywhere from 155 to 170. It's not an exact science and to be frank it's a matter of fricking opinion. I, personally, hate when someone looks at a deer and throws a "score" on him. THey're hunting for the wrong reasons. If you're shooting them based on a score, you're just a fricking idiot.

Now this ole boy wanted a guestimate on what his paw paws deer would score. I'm guessing his paw paw came from the same era that my paw paw came from and that man wouldn't give two fricks, but we all answered him. And if that fricking beautiful animal don't land firmly in the 140's I will kiss your rebel arse.
