Suffix 832 15 or 20lb. Occasionally mono. I used to hate braid but I found some that I like.

Did you use a mono backing? I never had an issue with 15lb braid. I use the lighter braid for light Jig heads and my Floating Rat L Trap which weighs very little.

I use 17lb Trilene.

Lame I know but I honestly can’t remember the last time I broke off a fish.

they make up to 40lb I believe. Alx may have some more insight. I know he throws it a bunch, or did at one point anyway.

I like the 40lb for bait casters.

Now every reel has 50lb power pro back on, can't wait to just horse them back in.

I still use a mono or flouro leader so I still have to play the fish.

This is your issue. The small line diameter on a bait caster is usually not recommended because it will dig into itself as you experienced. I'm sure some braids are better than others for this, but I generally don't recommend going below 30lb braid on a bait caster.

This is a good General rule of thumb. I use mostly 30#, some 20# depending on how I’m rigged.

Anything under 30, mostly under 20 will dig into the braid you have spooled especially if you’re inshore fishing where you know you’re probably gonna catch a few fish that pull drag. It’ll absolutely destroy 10,15# braid on your spool

I started putting flouro on my bass reels and I don’t think I’ll ever go back

I have braid on one or two reels for heavy cover, but pretty much flouro for everything else.

What brand and size? And what do you like about it?

I've found it very unmangeable for a lot of applications, has a lot of memory and really doesn't benefit me any over braid with a fluoro leader. It also degrades quickly and needs to be replaced at least 2x/year.

All that being said, I know a lot of people love it so maybe I should give it another shot.

It's truly the worst outdoor product ever created.

50# power pro on most and 17# mono on a couple. Leader on the braid to be determined, if I even use one, on what I’m throwing, water clarity

Either 30lb braid or 12 lb suffix elite mono. I hate throwing flourocarbon. Heavy braid starts getting harder to throw. I know nobody throws mono anymore but I'm kinda of going back to it more than I used to, especially the suffix elite.
