Depends how big your balls are

The bigger the better, and most definetly two motors.
I have been that far out in a 24' cat. Also been that far in a 24' bay boat on the right day with twin 175's.

Depends on the weather, on a calm day a 24 would work. I've been 80 miles in a 20 on a real calm day.

24' min and you better have 2 engines....
I wouldnt go that far out in a 32' if I didnt have 2 engines

Seriously though. We used to fish that far out when I was a kid on a 20' Boston Whaler outrage with a 200hp. That is on the small side IMO. I would prefer a twin engine set up with a minimum of 100 gallons of fuel. Something in the 22-25' range. Definitely has to be a deep Vee hull with substantial free board if you want to have any measure of safety. Those afternoon squalls can get nasty in a hurry out there.

The one the charter guide has usually works pretty well.

I went out in a flat bottom boat about half that far on a calm night. Started getting choppy so we had to turn around. Wouldn't have been the first time I've sank a boat...

I've been 30 miles off in a 22 ft single engine bay boat, but it was calm and we followed another boat out.
Personally I like anything with twin engines 26 ft or longer.

Are you using the Judge as a back up motor?

21ft or longer. That is only an hour run. Of course I would only do that in 2ft or less seas.
ETA: I prefer 24ft w/ twin engines though.

Heard that Taurus is coming out with a stainless saltwater edition next year. Going to have "OB Edition" laser engraved on the barrel. For the face shooting of sharks and the occasional sea snake, of course.

Couple guys that used to be in my hunting club had a story about doing just that. Said they caught a storm on the way in and thought for sure they were gonna lose the boat. Didn't go out that far again until one of the guys went buy a 30' Pro-Line

I wouldn't go out in anything less than a 25' again with two engines, I have been out a few times on a 27' Grady White and have felt more than comfortable even when seas started kicking up

If it is too rough for a 27' Grady White I don't even want to be out there.

For the face shooting
My input is whatever you get, have a marine radio and a locator beacon.
