i've tried to no avail, she doesn't give a damn about marine forecasts, all that matters is sun and rain
I would put money that more people get killed (drown) on a bright sunshine day than a cloudy rainy day

well yeah, since there are more people in the water on a bright sunny day than on a cloudy rainy day.

That's like saying, I bet there are more shark attacks in the summer then in the winter.

Not sure of the brand but it's around 30' and similar to contender or yellowfin or something like that.. I always considered those sportfishers but when I looked it up all they showed was hatteras yachts

we've always said that bc people like to think they are ok bc the weather is "nice" but they don't take into account that 20-30mph north wind they may be blowing after a front and sink their boat

I've become spoiled. We dont go out unless forecast is 2-3 or less. We do overnighters because we have to run so far here out of Cameron. No fun to get beat around in worse. 8 fters suck!!

We had a hatteras when I was a kid. Don't really remember rough seas. We also had a 25 ft Grady White and if the seas are too rough for that I don't want to be out there.

Let her go. Wave from the dock. That'll end the debate on who the smart one is.

anything more than 2-3 and it better be a big arse boat. I personally don't want to fish in anything that uncomfortable.

Have to agree with the 2-3 or less...been out in a lot rougher and it is not fun.

Funniest thing I ever saw was some dude followed us out in a little 16ft Jon Boat with a small 5hp engine...about 3-4 miles out of Pensacola Pass for Snapper. We had fished all day and the winds changed and seas continued to grow...we were hauling arse back and as we came up on the pass he was fighting for everything he was worth to get back in...holding the motor with one hand and a beer in the other hand. True fisherman right there!

that's the plan, except i won't be on the dock, i'll be on my bass boat somewhere not in 5-8 footers and 25 mph winds

It all depends on wave spacing along with what boat. Most go fast center consoles, nothing more then 3'-5', were a nice 32'+ sportsfisher, 6' would be a limit. But I'm old now.

i think it's a 31' contender, i don't go offshore much, but even i know it will be miserable, 5-8 footers with 11' b/t waves

That was a total waste of money going out in waves like that.

I've been in some fairly deep seas salmon fishing and bottom fishing. We were on pretty big boats though so there wasn't any talk of being cancelled on.

The problem is, here, the Gulf of Mexico off the Louisiana coast has a very choppy state seas. Wave period is very tight and will beat the crap out of you.

I had fished both east and west coast before in bad weather. Still, the GOM by far sucks when seas kick up.

obviously depends on what boat it is. Did 10-12s once in a 54' bertram, only because it was a tournament and a lot of money was on the line.

Backing into those waves with marlin on the line got pretty scary. Had everything in the cockpit floating in a couple of feet of water a few times.

Would do it do it again though if someone offered me a free trip on a boat.
