Never kilt anybody, but 4buck is my go to round for home defense.

Despite our disagreement, I gladly accept your praises!

I just buy the cheap 100 packs at Walmart.

My favorite shotgun pellet is 30 rounds of 5.56.
And racking a shotgun to deter is letting bad guy (who doesn’t know the layout of your house) know your exact location so they can spray and pray.

Not here for the argument, but I’ve damn near blown a deer’s head off at 20 ft with #6 high brass from a modified choke.

The old timers loved 1 buck. I dont keep a shotgun loaded in the house anymore but when I did it was 2-3/4" 1 buck.

This works too. I’ve killed a hog graveyard dead at 40 yds with it.
And maybe a couple turkeys

Holy thread revival indeed.
And yes I agree with other posters who have stated that a racking of a firearm will likely not deter a criminal if they’ve already chosen to come into your house.

I keep the tube of my shotgun loaded but the chamber empty. Not because I want someone to hear me rack the slide, I want it to be a step safer in case my kid grabs it, or anyone else. I know some will disagree.

I think anyone who has ever shot living flesh with any fine shot at 10-20ft will say that they do not feel under gunned with the same in ranges found in a home.
Unless they are OT ballers and live in pdiddy size mansions!!

Why do you want buckshot going thru your walls?
4’s or 6’s would be plenty

Clint Smith of Thunder Ranch has a video going through all the options. He’s also entertaining as hell

As someone who has taken about half the pellets from a 2 3/4” of #6 from a pretty good distance, I wouldn’t have wanted to get up and fight someone after I was shot.
