What is your coldest temperature for tent camping?

I did a couple of nights at 21 degrees in Chisos Basin, Big Bend one December. I remember there was a big tent about 50 feet from ours. Some college kids were in party mode their first night. We got up early the next AM and all four of the college kids were in their SUV with the heater going.
My first time ever sleeping in a tent was before a morning hunt. I did not even have a sleeping pad, no sleeping bag, no pillow, and I brought one small blanket. It was miserable to say the least. I woke up once to an animal growling outside my tent but it sounded like a raccoon so I went back to sleep. I slowly added everything I needed to stay warm for a cold Big Bend trip in the winter.

I did an 11 degrees at Fort Leonard Wood once and it wasn't because I wanted to. It was a miserable fricking night. The next night I volunteered for KP duty so I could go back to the barracks for the night instead of sleeping in that shite again.
ETA frick bivouac and the field.

Upper 20's at Tunica Hills WMA 2 years ago. Investing in one of those Lil Buddy heaters if I go again with temps anywhere near that.

I think it was in the low 40s but it was on the coast in Mendocino. Miserable and wet. My 20 year old tent leaked. It took it to the dumpster and bought a new one.

FTX at Camp Ashland, Nebraska in late January. 1 degree F on the second night after a solid day of heavy snowing. Nothing better than starting a day knowing you have a 5 mile ruck march back to the barracks with a frozen M60 and hitting your head on the tent canvas ceiling that is rock solid from the layer on ice on top of it. I love cold weather but that was miserable.

Went to the Smoky Mountains one weekend for a short fishing trip, was 90+ the first day, big storm front came through that night, and pushed the temperature slightly below freezing. I was totally unprepared for that, was a miserable night to say the least. However, the trout fishing in the morning was amazing.

Mid 20s in RMNP in June.
This coonass had never seen any substantial amount of real snow in his life and decided to backpack up a damn mountain and go camp in it Good luck finding a flat, soft place to pitch a tent in the Rockies

don’t want to know,
early September archery antelope hunt in WY, wake up to frozen over ponds wearing everything you brought, stripped down to T-shirt and shorts by 12-2pm then put everything back on for walk back to camp in the dark, extreme temp change and wind was brutal...

No such thing as bad weather, just bad gear. 8 degrees in a Hammock. Heading on an 80 mile hike in the Smokies the week of Thanksgiving. Rain and a little snow forecasted. Can't wait.

I did a below 20 degree night a couple of years ago in my backpacking tent with my dog. I kept trying to put an extra blanket on her, but she looked at me like a wuss and slept on top of the bag.

Low 20s. Went hunting in North LA a few years ago in a tent. Stayed 5 nights.
Had sleeping bags and plenty of whiskey at night.
Boots froze to our climbing stands in the trees.
Cold but killed some piney woods deer.

That sounds like a blast. I'm finally geared up to do 20 mile plus hikes properly.

Cold enough to result in spooning with another man. Compliments of Uncle Sam

Weekend camping trip in upstate NY in High school. We were camping in these three sided aderondack cabins, and temps dropped the first night to around 10 degrees. Had a bad arse mummy sleeping bag and a nice pad, so i was actually pretty comfortable. Woke up with frost on top of my bag. Took me a while to actually get out of the bag that morning because it was so warm and i knew getting out would be miserable.
