My AR has a flashlight mounted and a low powered scope. It no longer fits in my rifle case.

What do you guys recommend?

Edit…not the most expensive but a solid case.

I use a Plano case with the pluck it foam. It’s good and very solid

I also have a pelican case that’s cut out.

Both have rollers which is critical

You could probably get away with a Pelican 1700 or 1720

Pelican is the easy answer. I haven't bought one yet but I've seen them discussed on gun boards - Condition 1 cases. They are made in Texas. I may give them a shot next time I need one.

Pelican if you want Yeti type status name brand.

Harbor Freight if you want that same or better case at half the price.

I have a couple of both and I'll never pay Pelican prices again.

Walk through most any Harbor Freight door, make a hard right down that isle ... there are injection molded gun cases all along that wall that even have a couple of superior features over Pelican again, for less than half the price.

Look into the Naunk 985 or 990
LINK

Or SKB
LINK

Either one of these are going to be comparable to Pelican cases.

Pelican and Harbor Freight are both good. I have a Pelican, but I bought it years ago before Yeti was in business and before HF was selling cases. A friend of mine has a couple from HF. He's been really pleased w/ them. They look pretty solid to me. I'd get one from HF if they had a size to fit my long barreled handguns.

You just missed a deal on the harbor freight cases. They were marked down from $170 to $100 two weekends ago. I picked one up then and they are really nice. Pick and pluck foam, heavy duty. Yea the pressure vent feels cheap, but so what. Fits my AR and bolt gun just fine.

This is their case.
