What ducks do you consider trash ducks?

I know everyone scoffs at certain species, but we've been killing quite the mixed bag this year and I'm not sure what's considered good or what most people pass on
I'll start with this list which we've killed at least one of this weekend
Dos Gris
Ring neck
Spoon
Squealer

Said it 100 times but I'll say it again. I'll take spoons over mallards and pintails ALL DAY.

Yeah I've heard that plenty
But you'll see a lot more people bragging about a picture of a limit of mallards than a limit of spoons

My son killed his first duck Saturday and I wanted to mount it, but it was a hen ring neck

yep, hunting buddy is a big auburn fan. i'm painting his bed purple and gold next year. we have a tradition of the winner of that years game getting to jack with the other guy without payback till the next game.

Wood ducks and teals best eating duck there is.
Anything outside of those two and mallards and pintails most nrth la people consider to be shite ducks.
Them coonasses diff story though.
Not sure if most of them consider anything trash ducks... They eat blackbirds and coots.

I would wager that many people like mallards because they usually will work and respond to calls. With the mojo mallard craze no ducks work as well as they used to, but mallards will usually at least give you a pass or two if you are in a good spot.

I'm glad you asked that. I was curious too. Never heard a whistler called that...heard Woodies called that...and I was thinking people considered them trash.
For me...Scaup/Dos gris are just too bloody to deal with..and any spooner with a red breast is trash.
Mergansers aren't ducks...they count against another bag limit....so I won't consider them.

Unless somebody wants a drake for the wall or a frozen duck to train a dog with there isn't any reason to shoot a merganser in my opinion. I'd almost make the same argument for dos gris/scaup.
