so I'm going to go with either the Bear Charge or PSE Stinger. Thanks again for the help
I seriously recommend not doing this.
My family has shot bows our entire life. And my oldest brother making a good living bc of BowTech and Diamond archery. And with bows, you get what you pay for.
Just look at it like this, would you rather have a two year old BMW, or a brand new Hyundai? Sure you will spend just as much on a used BowTech/Matthews as you would a new PSE/Bear (you just happened to name the two companies that I really really dislike their bows) but you would be getting a much more quality bow.
Either way I hoped you get hooked on bow hunting

I think getting an entry-level package is a great idea. You never know what you're getting into with a used bow, especially if you are just getting into archery. Bear and PSE have been making great bows for a long time and I would have no problem recommending either.
In fact, I recently introduce my fiancée to archery and went to Bowie Outfitters to have her shoot a couple different bows so she could get a feel for it. The bows they recommended for her were a Bear Apprentice, a Bear Young Gun and a PSE Chaos. All great bows with differing levels of price and craftsmanship perfect for someone looking to get into the sport without spending a ton of money.
If you haven't already, take a look at Cabela's Bargain Cave. They have some great deals on some PSE's and Bear's going on right now.

if you want sport like all these bow hunter claim, hunt with a spear. Or a sling. Be a man.

Nothing could be farther from the truth. Two of the best shooting bows I have ever had were entry level to midrange bows. One was a Jennings and the other was a High Country and both used to shoot cirlces around more expensive bows. On the 3d range, in the back yard, in the woods, what ever.
I shoot a Bow Tech Captain and love it, but I think the prices of high end bows are getting fricking rediculous.

Definitely. But to higher end bows in general. There is a huge gap in between the two. You just don't get the new technology in a mid level bow as you do in the higher end. But if price is an issue then get what you can afford. But like I said, I just hope he enjoys bow hunting.

I'm really exited to get started. My buddy just went on his first trip and loved it. He got me hooked

Hard to compare to others when the same person isn't shooting the bows. You might have shot circles around others but it was probably because your good at shooting a bow.
Doesn't mean that if you had been shooting a Matthews the bow wouldn't have had much less vibration, smoother draw and overall a faster bow.
