I like the Sportsman. I stop whenever I go thru.

How many here have heard of Vince's in Delhi? No Mom , just Vince and not sure if he is a Pop. He sells fishing tackle and bait out of a little shed about as big as a walk in closet. But he keeps up with the lake here and can tell you what is biting and what on. Great perch au lait tackle stop. You gotta avert your eyes from his hair do though and don't ask about his health unless ya wanna hear about his colon. Great guy though!

Terry gets his live shrimp from Al at Coastal Bait and Al gets his minnows from Terry. Live shrimp probably not available until late April at best.

I worked for Northwood Bait & Tackle just north of Shreveport back in the 90's for a summer delivering bait to all the mom and pop places in the surrounding area.

I guess you might have called Northwood a mom and pop store, but I got to see small bait shop in NW La and East Texas.

Gus' Tackle in Slidell is a good place. Good people. My son loves to launch at Chef Marina just on the east side of the bridge. They give him Popsicles while I'm launching.

Marshland's in Ponchatoula is the greatest bait shop for bass fishermen. Myron is the owner and a member of the local club. He is a great guy and will order anything you cant find on his shelves. I never go anywhere else

Huh....How about Woodson's.....at Woodson's landing at Saline Lake. Even makes his own seasoning too. He's been there 50 plus years.

Stopped at Vince's this weekend to grab a bag of shiners and a couple packs of jigs. The man know what's happening on Poverty Point.

Cabela's in Gonzalez, the guy working the reel counter knew his stuff fairly well

The thing that I hate over there is they change the bait locations constantly so something is never in the same place twice and it seems like they piled up all the baits and set a bomb off to figure out where they are placing crap. Although the last time I went it was a tad bit better, so maybe they have someone with sense taking over the design of the floor there.
