I’m gonna check out vbay... Rivers way down and its gotten salty so it should be good year for us. I can definitely give up those 2-3 hour trips for a little while.

We’re going to the camp in Grand Isle Tuesday evening and staying until the following Tuesday.

Will run to Fourchon and Timbalier for Trout. We’ve caught limits the last 5 trips fishing along Fourchon and caught 11 4-5 pounders In those 5 trips, which we usually don’t catch many that big this time of year along the surf. Every single 4-5 pound trout we caught during that stretch was on live cocahoes Carolina rigged on an old oyster reef close to where the short set of rocks were. 3 of of them were caught on medium sized live pogies.

We’ll also make a couple offshore trips 2 or 3 days while we’re down there.

We’re the short rocks on Elmers or towards Timablier?

Opposite side of elmers near Belle Pass.

Do you know where the long set of rocks were on the east side of Belle Pass? The short set was about 200 yards east of the longset running perpendicular from beach. Those set of short rocks are still there but they’re now under water and a little scattered.

I need to reach out to lsuson to see if he’d like to come fish with me this coming week or weekend. I really want to buy some of the custom baits he made and give them a try.

Leastbay, when you go to Fourchon are you usually making a 1 day trip? You put in at Fourchon public launch?

Good luck. We went to SWLA 3 weeks ago and ran way south in the lake down to Calc Pass. Caught a limit between calc pass and monkey island. Caught most on purple demon and finished our limit on live shrimp.

Never fished fourchon. I usually fish hopedale/delacroix. Gonna start at PAC though and if nothing there go to Fourchon. Looks to be 25 miles. Gotta change things up. Been a tough summer for me.

You gotta get down to Fourchon this year before the summer is. You can hammer their asses around the barges and rocks this time of year. In fact you can smash them regardless of rocks barges along the surf. Fourchon is a good stretch of surf.

If weather permits, get close enough to the beach as you can and look for washed up oyster shells along beach. If you see a bunch, ease back out and fish those spots. That’s where you can catch big trout down there this time of the year.

What kind of boat you running?

Frontier 2104, guess I'll be packing dead shrimp and minnows from PAC. Never see live shrimp around there the few times I've gone.
