Still not sure where the auto interest came from - or why so many people don't look at o/u's as waterfowl guns anymore.

Two part question for the OB.
1) What is your favorite gun to shoot birds with? Semi, pump, o/u, sxs - whatever it is, name it.
2) If you had to go buy a gun to hunt with what would it be?
Also... has anybody had experience with the new browning a5's? Any reviews?
Looking at A5, A400, SX4, Citori for now. All thoughts and reviews welcome.
1. Beretta Extrema 2
2. Beretta A300 if I'm on a budget, A400 if I am not limited.
Berettas fit me the best and I have the most experience with them, that's why I keep going to that well. I also shoot an M2 20 gauge on occasion as well as a couple over unders for the sport of it, but majority to my berettas.
I duck hunt 70+ days a year. I see over 200 different guns in the blind each year. Every brand has their issues, nearly the same amount of issues across the board, whether it be Beretta, Benelli, Browning, Winchester or Franchi.
Find the gun that shoulders and shoots the best for you.

people hung up on "only two shots" . my daddy taught me that if you cant hit that duck with the first 2, you don't need the 3rd.
Mine taught me to have 3 more laid out on the rail, or in a handy pocket, ready to shove in as soon as I fired the first three

Think you hit a great point there about all of them having their issues.

I've had awful experience with benelli SBEIII.

Also curious about this. Starting to see way more people talk positively about the M2 than the sbe3

I still shoot an SBE II my father gave me for Christmas my freshman semester at Auburn.

The do have a problem w grip caps falling out. Both have had warranty claims on it. The recommend roughing up the inside and adding a little adhesive, so it must be an issue.

I love my now antique Remington 870 Wingmaster, but have moved on to a Beretta A400 Extrema via a Benelli Nova.

I started on an 870 Wingmaster and only deer/ squirrel hunted as a young man. Still have my first one and love it.
When I started duck hunting I learned quickly that I held my cheek too tight to the stock. I would look like I’d been in a boxing match after a full box of shells, so I bought my first auto (Browning Silver 3.5) around 2005. It’s never failed me and is about half the price of the new elite semis.
Also shoot a Remington Model 11 for teal (2-3/4” #4) that is about 60 years old.
