I figured I'd ask the boat owners of the OB.
Where are some decent places to drag the kids around on a tube for a few hours, near NOLA?
Some have suggested the canal near Lafite. Rosethorn park?

South pass in Manchac is a good place for skiing and tubing. Wide open pass with not much traffic. You can also get some good eats at Fatboys or Middendorf's for lunch.

Lot of boat traffic in that canal most of the time.
What about launching at St James Boat Club and going up the Blind River?
ETA: Thats about 30-40 minutes west of NO.
Could always launch at Bonnabel and go to Lake Pontchartrain if its a calm day

Grew up skiing and tubing at the spillway. Launch @ Airline past Kenner, brah. Also, Bayou Bienvenue. Launch on Paris Rd. Skied both countless times.

Doesn't count if you didn't launch behind the fire station.
