I’m sure you’re always truthful about where you’ve killed and caught stuff.
Not only that WLF can knock on their door all they want. They have to prove his guilt, the hunters don’t have to prove their innocence, so stop spewing bs.

Well initially their story they told the guides at the marina was they shot it on federal land, now apparently it’s on leased private land? They should get it straight before wildlife comes knocking on their door....
why is that? its no crime to lie to your peers or on the internet about where you killed something. I've been doing that most all my life.
when i was a small child, in a fishing rodeo at the harbor in mandeville, i believe it was Don Dubuc interviewing me for the radio and asked where we had caught the fish... my dad was so proud when i told him "in the water" and that started my career and lifelong crimes of "wildlife lying"

Rispone was interviewing me for swollfest and asked where we caught a fish at. He didnt find "south" to be a good answer.

the buck is not going to swim up the Mississippi River
The deer on Davis Island swim the river every time it floods, then come back.

Never said deer won’t swim the river. Said they aren’t going to swim up the river. No deer can fight the current in the Mississippi River and swim miles or really any distance up the river. Across the river yes that can happen.
Also there is a lot more boat traffic in the river south of Venice then by Davis Island.

You are right ha ha Long Day
There's no telling where this deer was killed, that jet ski has to have a 40-50 mile range on a tank of gas.

He's taken that jetski to MC109 before, so it should easily cover going downriver and back.

There are plenty of deer off of Batiste Collette between Houseboat Canal and the river. There are high ground ridges back there. Back when a friend of mine had his houseboat there, we used to go out a night with a Qbeam and shine for them. And no, we didn't ever shoot any.

I heard from a few people that they shot it poaching on private land. They post videos hunting over corn. So they are either poaching on private land, or feeding on state or federal land. Either way it’s not legal. Typical “look at me” generation that will go anywhere/do anything and can’t keep a good thing quiet bc they need the social media spotlight. Beautiful buck for sure, but I fish with guides down there often, and everyone I know down there has nothing good to say about them two guys.
Sounds like you are spreading rumors that you can't confirm. One thing I've learned in my years of hunting is that there's always gonna be some bastards talking shite about someone else.

Doublecutter,,Prepare for the pokey, you just admitted to wildlife harassment.

My question is why the jet ski? Did it offer some benefit a flat bottomed aluminum boat didn’t like a normal guy would use? A skiff would be dryer, easier to use, and make more sense in every situation I can come up with in my head. A fishing guide would like have access or own one before a jet ski.
If that’s all he had or there was a simple reason that’s all and good, just seems impractical to me?

On the flip side, a lot of poaching goes on and can’t be proven. Sometimes it can be hard to prove without having cameras everywhere.

BayouBill225, Just like the FB post said. They didn't tell anyone at that Marina shite about where it was shot. But those guides sure did speculate and come up with their on story!!! One baw said he didn't agree or disagree with any thing they asked as to the whereabouts they shot it. For the simple fact they know every single asshat at that marina will be in there poaching the shite out there spot. One guide said yea we seen where that jet ski was coming from. Ole baw said yep. Cause that's exactly where the frick I wanted you to see it coming from. And that sir is the bottom line truth.

To play devil’s advocate, if you don’t want guys all up in your hunting spot and business it’s not exactly wise to pull up to a busy fishing marina and post a nice buck up on the scale.
I would have put the deer in a regular skiff covered in a tarp and got out of the marina before anyone knew what was up.

Cool picture or easy to hide the jet ski from people trying to find out where you are hunting.
I agree. Wouldn’t use a jet ski to hunt.

Living in northern Missouri you see people trying to poach all the time. When the city boys come trolling the gravel roads you know what they are up to but there's virtually no eyes to see em in action. Bad enough some of the locals do it
