Utility trailer reccommendations

Looking for a 12' or 14' utility trailer.
Mainly need it to haul the Mule, which requires a 12', but I'm leaning 14' just to have a little extra room for junk.
Looks like 14' can be had in either a single or double axle. I'm kind of on the fence about what to buy.
Any places in BR that are recommended? Anything I should look for?

I would get a little bigger than you think you need.
Go with the 14'.

How far do you tow?
Single axles are easier to deal with but I'll never own anything but a dual axle due to the added capacity and cozy feeling of having that extra wheel to get me to a safe area in case of trouble.

I think I'm set on 14', I can't fit my mower on the back of a 12'.
Not that far, 100 miles each way. Over the causeway quite a bit. I would hate to shuck a tire in the middle of the bridge, but I dont know if the cost, weight, and maneuverability are worth the double axle.
I can move a single axle by hand, I don't think that's going to happen with a double...

I have always used Pro Pull, Doug has always treated me right. 3 16 footers and 7 40 foot GN's.
Buy longer than you think you need. I always had a double axle, if you catch a flat you can strap up that tire and get off the road.

I was actually looking at them online. They have a 14' that I am interested in.
Any experience with them?

If deer hunting a lot get one big enough that you can fit a large cooler between back of your mule and back of trailer.
I pull my Polaris 900 in a single axel it does quite well over the last five years.

Looks like Mule can be about 1500-2000 lbs, then add trailer weight and Id say you still have about 700-1000lbs to play with so long as its a 3500lb axle
singles are easier to back up in tight spots but you lose the reliability of having an extra axle, should you get a flat. Unless you need more weight than that 700-1000lbs to haul on top, go with the single

I don't. I like the comfort of having a second axle there, with extra tires, but I probably don't need it.
I think you're right, single axle for me.
Damn place in Denham is closed for the week. Off to Opelousas I go...

There was a place mentioned in south MS that was cheaper than everywhere on a thread a month or so ago. You should look for it because of the cost savings and the pleasant experience everyone has had who made the trip.

I bought my 14ft from Stringer Trailers in Picayune. At the time, 5 years ago they were the cheapest around. They also had the dove tail trailer which knocks the gate height in half.

I got a 12’ trailer with a dove tail from denham (trailer world). Their price for a new unit was on par with the price of most used units I found in good shape. The build quality isn’t as good as others Ive owned but it work and gets the job done.
I didn’t think I’d care for the dove tail style at first but having owned it for a while I highly recommend it, especially if you’ll be driving an atv or mower in and out. Also it’s nice to pull a dolly up the lower slope.

In was going to drive by at lunch, but they are closed for a week.
The place in opelousas is a little higher, but they are open and not much more than denham. They sell Buck Dandy trailers. Dad actually just got one with his new Kubota, seems to be pretty well built.
Good enough for my needs at least. If dovetail is am option, I would consider it. I think it would be nice to have.
ETA: I saw the place in MS, but it's halfway to Memphis, that's just a little too far for me to travel. I'd like to have one within a reasonable distance in case of any problems come up.

only thing I'd suggest is getting one with a dovetail.
Makes everything a little easier.

If u are willing to go to Natchitoches, Donald Richardson has good stuff .... I shopped them 2 years ago. We bought a 14x6.5 for $1250 and 18x6 for $1800. Bought the 14x6.5 w a back gate that collapses down on the bed when being hauled empty. Highly recommend

Most trailers are coming with untreated boards. I’d ask about that when shopping. A coworker just bought one for a steal out of the Broussard/New Iberia area but he can’t remember the name of the place. Was a last year model and had untreated boards though.
