So I'm really close to buying my first pistol and these two seem to be the ones I am trying to decide between. I just want to hear from someone who has used both and what they think of them. I'm looking at both of the newer generations on these by the way.

I don't plan on carrying these; I just want one for protection to keep in my nightstand and to take in the car when I go on trips. I'll prob bring it to the range a good bit too bc they have one very close to my apartment.

My favorite thing about the VP9 is its ergonomic grip. My hand is just a little big on the G19. The people at the gun shops I've been to have been saying to go with the glock because it is so versatile.

What say the OB?

ETA: Also, where is the cheapest place to buy? They have a gun show in town this weekend and I was planning on checking out the deals there. Not sure if that is a good place for deals or not.

UPDATE: I bought the VP9 this weekend, and I love it. I got it in grey. Came with the night sights and 3 mags.

Academy has the VP9 for $550 right now

I'm probably going to buy it this weekend.

But the 15 round might be a little to big to conceal carry, so ive been looking at the 10 round ones.

Most of the time it would be in the house or in the center console of the car though. Decisions decisions.

Nice. How much do you normally see them for? The store I was at earlier had it at $589

VP9 if you like good sights, triggers, and ergos

Glock if you like gritty triggers, bad ergos, bizarre grip angles, and garbage polymer sights

My vote is for the VP9 as I own one and I love it.

Grabagun has the 15 round for $569 + $7.99 shipping.

Not a bad deal. Do you just pay the state tax that you order from?

I've looked at Gen 5s because of course the gun shops want to sell those, but I'm clearly open to a Gen 4. I'm trying to spend no more than $600 really.

I'm not sure. Enter all your info on the checkout and see

But you'll have to pay a FFL fee wherever you ship it to so add that into the total price

I know you seem to have narrowed it to HK or Glock. I’ll just throw out the Walther PPQ M2. talk about nice ergos and trigger. And sub-$500 right now. If you haven’t already take a look at one. Of the HK or Glock, I haven’t handled an HK. I like the Glock, but the Walther is my personal choice.

I have never shot the VP9, but the Gen 5 Glock triggers are much better than previous generations. I just picked up a 17 and 19. Worth a shot to fondle both.

Fits my hand perfect and I like the safety/decocker option

Grabagun is in Coppell, so if you’re in Texas I’m pretty sure they’ll charge you tax.
