Not worried about borrowing money.... Just didn't want to drop $300 on a visit/injection/script.

I'm HIGHLY allergic and the only thing that works for me is the Zanfel cream. Shots don't even knock it out with me.

I have been using Tecnu for about 10 years. Poison Ivy effects me in a bad way and this stuff takes care of it.

Some walmarts have it behind the counter.

If cannot go to the doctor then get some benadryl extra strength gel. helps with the itching for sure. other than that make sure to really clean hands and under fingernails because if there is any more oil from plant left you can spread it to other areas. if you had leather gloves on then these are likely contaminated as well - not end of the world just dont use then to wipe sweat off brow in near future.

Yeah man, if you've got really bad symptoms within 48 hours of exposure, I'd go to the doc.

I've never been super allergic to it, but there's this stuff that grows in the Red River bottoms - pretty sure it's sumac - that I (and any other person I've ever seen get exposed to it) am violently allergic to.

Left untreated, by about day 3, I've got oozing blisters. I fought it once with OTC stuff. Didn't work out well. In fact, my wife also wound up going to the doc, as she had the stuff all over her T and A.

Anyway, the super aggressive treatment is the shot coupled with a decreasing dose of oral steroids coupled with some type of prescription cream.

go now brah, it may get worse before it gets better.

I've had to go and get a steroid shot the past two times I've gotten poison ivy to get it to clear up. I tried every home remedy and OTC product I could find and nothing worked. I had it all over my face once and that was miserable.

Zanfel works! picked up some this morning, put it on for lunch and by 4 the swelling and redness has gown down! It was already at the blistering stage and looks about %50-%60 better already. Would've had it on last night, but the wife went to pick some up for me after work yesterday and the damn pharmacist told her it wouldn't work. Just go get a shot at the clinic. Damn pharmacist, always acting like they know everything

I'm the same way...If I even look at it the wrong way it's on!

The two ABSOLUTE BEST cures for poison ivy is as follows:

1) As already stated, "straight" bleach...use a Q-Tip and put it on the rash/bumps several times a day...It WILL knock the itch and the rash out in less than a week.

2) Now....the absolute fastest and best cure for poison ivy that I've EVER tried is Sycamore Tea....Yeah yeah yeah....I know...I thought the exact thing when I heard this (look it up)...You basically take the bark from a sycamore tree and boil it in water until it's the color of tea...wet a rag and simply put it over the area that has poison ivy....I had a SEVERE case and it was cured in TWO days...and the itching stopped immediately and never returned...I have NO idea what's in there, but it sure as shite works.. You're welcome

I'm telling you.... if your allergic. Spend the $40 and get Zanfel. Tecnu didn't do anything for it except keep it from spreading (at least i think). The Zanfel in about 4hrs improved me by at least %50. Just went for a 2nd scrubbing. Actually did both legs just to be sure this time. I'm going to see what it looks like in the morning. Maybe post pics
