Happened to notice a Canvasback swimming around with some ring necks on my pond so I grabbed the camera and through the sneak on him. Only got a few shots before my Boykin disrupted my plans.

Why are waterfowl pictures always so cool to look at?

You took some great photos.

Did you shoot it with a 150-600mm?

Great shots!

What type lens did you use? I've been meaning to get out to Lake G'ville and see if I could get me a few shots of a canvasback or some grays rafted up.

I've been looking hard at them. I have the 70-200 2.8 VC and really like it

Man those are great shots. Perfect focus.
I have a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L But it’s hard for me to get in position with it on my pond. I would have to get there before the ducks.

Do you put that lens on a tripod or are those shots hand held? If on a tripod, what kind of head are you using?

Man, I’ve been seriously thinking about getting a camera to start capturing some of these moments. More times than not, I get out the field and am like, “Man, wish I had a camera.”
