I have a private pond in Montgomery County, Alabama. Looking to change up from soft plastics (senkos and baby brush hogs)

What are some other good baits and presentations for summertime bass fishing?

You said you wanted to get away from plastics. But… if the lake has decent fish a 9-12” texas rigged plastic worm fished as slow as you can make yourself is good during the hot part of summer. Weight size depends on depth and worm, but a 1/4 oz would be a good starting point. I have caught a lot of bass in the summer deadsticking a plastic worm. If this is a big pond and you are fishing from a boat, a drop shot rig with a Gulp 3” minnow or similar, again worked super slow, is good around any deeper structure. And maybe I missed it, but a 3”-3.5” swim bait on an underspin, basically just a bigger version of a road runner, catches fish, Maybe others will disagree, but in the summer I get bites either fishing really fast (buzzbaits, spinnerbaits) or as slow as I can make myself.

What kind of structure there is, size and depth of lake, and fishing pressure will dictate the details. Are we talking 2 acres or 22 acres? Is it pressured? What kind of cover is there? If you have lily pads, on top of the standard buzzbait/frog/fluke everyone fishes, try a larger (trick worm or larger) straight tail worm texas rigged with a 3/0 or 4/0 EWG no weight. Same setup as a super fluke. Work it across the pads till you get to a hole and let it fall as long as you can stand. Rinse, repeat. You will get some that blow up on it, but most will eat it on the fall.

And a 4” finesse worm rigged on a 1/8 oz shaky head or texas rigged w/ 1/8 weight fished on 8-10 pound spinning gear will probably catch a bass anywhere that a bass lives.

Chatterbait Mini Max with a spunk shad is my favorite pond bait when I'm tired of wearing them out on plastics

It's the equivalent to a jig bite but a lot more active

Thx. 12 acre pond. Not heavily fished. Mostly bank fishing. Fallen trees. Bushes. I need to get a Jon boat or fishing kayak.

I do a lot of fishing in south Montgomery county ponds and I do well on white frogs, white buzzbaits, magnum pop-Rs and any of the chrome lipless crankbaits. I’m too ADHD for plastics

My gf’s dad has a 12 acre pond here in La. He lets some friends fish it, but mostly just me. The problem is, over 400 fish need to be taken out every year and It’s a pretty decent task. Luckily, he has crawfish ponds behind it and dumps crawfish into the fish pond.
Anyway, I wear them out on a delta lures delta shad chatterbait with silver blade and a reaction innovations Little Dipper sexy shad trailer. I catch them on hollow body frogs and buzzbaits too. But the chatterbait is my go to.

Yea, I spend a lot of time taking out fish under 2 pounds. I can’t get around the bank much thanks to some f in beavers building dams. I need to learn to trap.

This.

Or a smaller size Whopper Plopper at dawn/dusk, especially if there is a slight chop on the water.

Zoom super fluke is my all time favorite bass lure. I love watching a strike though

Beavers are not too hard to trap.

Duke's 330 body trap set up in their runs will take them out.
