Caught this one seining a catfish pond. I’ve seen dozens this size around my ponds and surrounding ditches. I think it’s time to get the 4wheeler and spotlight out

I wear a size 15 boot

Guy that works for me catches them on a cane pole with crickets. Dangles it in front of the frogs

Never thought of or heard of anyone doing it that way but it is genius

One thing I’ve always been curious about with frogging - I live right by the West Pearl and used to explore little offshoots of the river when I had a 16’ flat boat, and I came across some ENORMOUS red wasp nests along the bank. I’m talking like 2 feet across or more. Any of you froggers ever get a head full of pissed off wasps or hornets while frogging at night?

I’ve heard of doing it with a piece of red yarn on an unbarbed hook

11 year old kids don't need no stinkin' seasons...especially in the middle of a pandemic! Good for him...he'll grow up a much better man doing that kind of stuff.....when he is with you doing it is the time to preach compliance...when he is off on his own its like a young dog hunting for itself...it instills the drive...later on the training smooths the rough edges and makes him a finished hunter with a STRONG drive...right now he is simply honing his predator instincts and punishing or shaming him for doing what men are supposed to do is damaging.

When I was a young man I worked in a bunch of office parks around north Atlanta and all of them had retention ponds that were landscaped to be aesthetically pleasing and not just functional. These things were full of frogs but none of the building managers were willing to allow anyone to gig frogs...its not something that is overly common in North Georgia....they were scared of litigation no doubt. But...they would let me fly fish in those ponds on Sundays only because very few people were around...and, by the way, those ponds were full of big bream and yearling largemouths...but I digress. I was fishing one afternoon with a sponge spider and a HUGE frog ate that thing!!! He was as good a fight on a fly rod as a bream the same size....but getting the fly back was nearly impossible.....but frog legs being what they are I cut the hook off another fly and caught 20 if them bastards in about an hour!!! From that point forward I have used the fly rod to catch frogs and it is a BLAST!

No, but had a pissed off big arse snake drop out of a tree one night. Was a three ring circus with three very well lit up beer drinking guys in the boat.
