Is that like the 'monkeys blood' they used to put on us back in the day? I want to say that was some type of betadine based solution too. I know they took it off the market years ago

Mecurocom or metholiate, prolly.

Yea thats it. Want to say that had some type of coagulant effect to it too.

Saw an episode of Dirty Jobs once and Mike Rowe was doing this to sheep.

I forget the name of it and I don't know if it's still made or not, but it was a spray can of purple stuff that was used to keep infection away and the flies off. In the 50's & 60's, we went through it by the case. I "lived purple" at an early age!!
It's still made and I have 3 shirts I wear when the need to apply it arises

Good idea!!
My one bath a week, usually on Saturdays, didn't get it off of me, so the kids at school knew to expect me to be purple, till about the middle of the week.

Dehorning in the summer used to bother me the most, so many flies, so much blood, so hot.....

Yeah, that's the worst procedure to me, but I'm biased towards horned cattle.

I've been around cattle all of my natural life. Cut thousands of head of calves, been to two world fairs and a goat screwing and still ain't never seen something that stupid
I've heard that a few times and it still cracks me up for some reason.

I caught that in the comment section too, the variation I've heard was

I've been to three county fairs, two hangin's, and a goat fricking and I ain't never seen no shite like this.

There used to be a story floating around about him doing that at Texas A&M the week leading up to their University of Texas game.
