Also, the Yetis are bear-proof. I saw that in ads.

I have to admit, since I bought mine, I haven't been attacked by a single bear.

That is honestly IMO the only reason I would have one, to keep bears out if I was in an area with a ton of them. Just can't get myself to spend that much on something that isn't really better at its core job

Well, I tell you, if you fill one with beer and empty it, it seems like some ugly women show up, where the night before, they were all good-looking.

Just be careful.

A $40K truck isn't any better at its core job than a $20K truck, but you buy the more expensive one because of quality. If you can't understand that you're paying for quality when you buy a YETI, then you're dead to me.

Exactly what quality? Isn't it an ice chest that does not hold ice any better than competitors? I don't care if you can toss it off an outcropping or hit it with an axe, it's an ice chest

Truck comparison is way off. I DGAF who #yetis or #saltlifes or whatever, I'm just saying a $400 ice chest better hold ice better than a $40 one if I am gonna buy it

This problem isn't exclusive to yetis, or ice chests in general for that matter

The quality of the MF'n product as a whole. Lids, handles, hinges, drain plugs, gaskets, everything.

A 5$ styrofoam cooler will hold ice just as well as your $40 cooler, so why not buy the styrofoam?

are you serious? WTF does this have to do with anything?

It was meant to say I don't care what you spend your money on, but I'm not gonna buy an ice chest that I can throw off a mountain because I will never throw one off a mountain. But not one person I know that bought one bought one because of quality, they bought them because of some perceived chilling advantage that has been debunked

So if it held ice better, you would spend $400 without considering quality?

eta: I need to get off my arse and start selling $400 styrofoam ice chests to your buddies.

Probably not, because I don't hunt in the Sahara and ice is usually pretty available. Not to mention the added risk of having them stolen. But it would make more sense to me as a $400 ice chest if it worked better as an Ice chest
