Just checked. $389 at Academy, but there are different grades IIRC. I think mine was only like $250 15 years ago
I picked my Marlin 336C back in the 90's for $175...
When Wally World was still selling guns...

Guess I'm in the minority here with the Winchester Model 94 Trapper. Thumped more than a few with it.

great lil brush gun
What's a brush gun? Is it shooting at something in the brush and hoping a person doesn't come staggering out with a hole in his chest?

No hes talking about twigs, grass, leaves etc. that might deflect a bullet. Common sense man, come on.

Haven't there been studies showing that slower "brush" calibers actually don't handle deflections as well as faster more modern cartridges?

Yea, I kinda thought this was like the "once a spike always a spike" rule.
Didn't know people still believed this kinda stuff. I do like 30-30s and call them "brush guns" sometimes. Not because they shoot through brush, but they are usually more compact and fast handling when you are hunting in thick brush.

Anyone have the marlin 39a, 22 lever rifle?
Posted on 11/9/15 at 7:20 pm to upgrade
I miss my ol Marlin. It was the first rifle my father gave me, and had killed every deer I had ever taken. I would love to catch the scum thug in Memphis who stole it.

I have a Marlin 39 carbine as a matter of fact. Love it.
