Started the battery box project tonight. Thoroughly prepared the surface and used Marine Goop to secure the box inside the hull. Just a water tight box I got from Walmart.
Also installed the electrical panel.
Still need to add the switches and then wire everything up. Going to let the adhesive cure for at least a day before I continue.

I wasn't going to. But while I'm at it I may as well at least set it up to where I can add them. Which leads to my question. Anyone know where I can get a small bus terminal around lafayette. Something to make it easier to distribute power.

I had LEDs on my Slayer, I wouldn't do it again. I installed full on boat style running lights when I was first getting into this and what I found quickly was I was never fishing at night, rarely on the water early enough where I had them turned on more than 30 minutes or so where the sun came up. It was very much overkill and now I just use a super bright headlamp and will soon get a visipole.

Hmmm. Yeah, maybe I don't need LED's. I'm probably only gonna have that yak for a couple more years at most. And same here, I'm rarely in the kayak in the dark. I have a light pole for that.

Yeah im kind of torn on it as well, was just thinking that having some white LEDs within the boat would be nice so I could see in the early morning, but not really necessary

If I'm not gonna add LED's I guess I don't need that terminal block. I'll probably just splice the wires from the battery to the switches. It ain't gotta be fancy. I may change my mind later. Wouldn't be too difficult to add and rewire.

I had even thought about adding a small white strip in the cockpit for the few times I needed to see something but figured my headlamp would be good enough, again not like I was often out when dark anyway.
