A buddy of mine caught 22 keepers there last Saturday, didn't ask what his throwback to keeper ratio was. We'll be there Saturday morning bright and early.

Will do, the Jackson crew is down there right now but looks like they're leaving Friday. I was hoping they'd still be around and I could talk them into letting me pedal the FDs a bit.

Just do the tournament Sunday and come be miserable in the open wind with all of us.

I’ve done PAC, Fred’s,choupique, pernt, and Hendason. Leeville, Golden meduh, and west cove next on radar.

The bay has me spoiled. I really am not looking forward to 3 Hour Drives at 3 AM

VB has been good to yall lately, I still say I hate the place.

The drives aren't terrible. From Lafayette you can be at Choupique/West Cove in 1.5 hours, PAC or Cocodrie in ~2.5. GM or Leeville in 2.5-3 hours. I've gotten up in the morning, driven to Grand Isle and come back that afternoon a handful of times, 3-3.5 hours. My tolerance for driving is probably higher than most though so I'm a terrible example. I hate getting to places when the sun is already up, unless it's cold.

We did Fred’s all the way to turners (which I was told was on fire) and it was a trek... worth it if they’re biting tho.

If i remember right we didnt do very well that day, broken pole, seat and power pole
it was on the Lafayette kayak tournaments
A buddy of ours did get a slam,
But I threw everything I had in The tackle box and nothing
Was 8.5 miles of pure hell

I've only fished the marsh at West Cove. The lake was always too windy everytime I've gone.

Oct. 15th - March 15th, you can go into the lake and access some marsh areas from Old Camp Canal and I think there's signs saying what is/isn't the refuge. It's a little over a 2 mile paddle though.

Thats a really nice area... we’ve only gone once and the water was still fairly fresh so I’m sure it’s better now.
