Ah don’t let that stop you. You’ve got just as much right to be there as they do.

We shot the shite with them all day. Even had some give us lures they were crushing em on. Only one boat of grumpy old fricks was griping about yaks.

Im gone get minez!

Just gotta stay woke. Systemic hatred of kayakers necessitates this ;)

#staywoke

Is there really a general dislike for yaks? Why??

Idk. Some people are fascinated by them and some absolutely hate them. More of the former probably, but damn some people freakin hate kayaks. I guess they think if you have a big boat powered by internal combustion you're entitled to more than a paddler/pedaler. Idk.

Perhaps people who aren't "fishermen" have taken up kayaking since it's cheap and don't know fishing courtesy and have pissed them off.

It's not too bad, once you get into the cove area no one is really running a boat up on step and most do pretty decent to spread out and keep semi-decent distances. If you catch one keep it on the DL though because people will try to move in on you.

Oddly enough my best trip from Cypremort Point showed up in my Facebook memories from 3 years ago today. My girlfriend and I went out there and were catching them almost every cast, mostly dinks with the occasional keeper. When I looked around after about 10 minutes a boat and 3 other kayaks had moved in on us, including a kayak that anchored right where I had been casting. I ended up casting a few feet from him and a trout smashed my plastic on the decent, he moved. I think we ended up with only 8 keepers and had to leave them biting. Another OBer was there that day in a camo KC fishing one set of jetties over and limited out if I recall, don't remember who that was.

Want to know why I hate the point so much? My personal best kayak trout came from the Point that day, right under 4lb. In 3 years since I've caught 2 fish there. I hate that place

Last time i caught my limit in trout at CP, it was me and my buddy in yaks, the owner of pack and paddle and a buddy of his, and one lonely boat. All 15" fish, caught fast. Was the weirdest day at the cove I've had.

I hear people complain about the kayakers in Lake Martin all the time. But they aren't complaining about the ones fishing. I was ther Saturday in my kayak. A big group of young people came paddling through all of the area I was fishing making all kinds of noise and acting the arse.

I was IN a damn kayak and said out loud "fricking stupid kaykers!"
