Lol. The Outback has completely taken over the club. I'm not even seeing many PA's anymore.

I dumped that heavy arse damn PA 14 and got a Outback, I do miss the PA seat but that’s about it. Outback is a lil fricking rocket and turns on a time
But really I’m old and couldn’t lift it

I've actually never even been in the new Outback but I need to demo one one day. I just don't really have a desire to upgrade right now, I've been happy with the Compass, it's quick and light as hell. All the guys I fish with seem to constantly be having issues with their 180 & 180 kick up drives so at this point I'm not even sure I even want the upgraded drive.

shite, BCKFC people must've been spending all their stimulus checks on PA 360's. I'm starting to see almost as many 360's as regular PA's

in Lafayette it's almost all Outbacks. I had a PA12 and loved the seat and the room, but that was it. Getting my drive serviced and a keel and nose guard put on by the old manager at Pack n Paddle. Hope to pick it up tonight or tomorrow.

Still have my older Slayer 12 and a Manta Ray propel. I just notice the latter is no longer made.

How do you feel the compass stability compares to the outback? I got on both at the kayak place in Gulfport and stood in them. They didn’t feel much different but of course that was in a pool. I’m stuck between the two.

Agree. I had the same dilemma, and I ended up with the outback. I thought about some of the things I'd want to add to the Compass and the Outback started making more sense since it comes with more standard features.

I've never been in a newer style outback so I can't truly compare. The Compass is plenty stable, atleast to me.

Is the seat in the compass comfortable enough to sit in for 3 hours or so? The main knock on the compass is the seat. Only thing holding me back right now. I love that it’s almost 20 pounds lighter and seemed to be about as stable.

the Compass doesn't have Dual Steering or a front hatch. Not sure about Kick Up Fins.

I had a compass for a minute. It’s a decent entry level boat, but you can tell they cut a lot of quality and materials to keep the price low. I had multiple 7 hour days in it and never had any issues

I’ve never had an issue with seat comfort. They make a 3D printed seat spacer that pics rhe seat up about an inch or so that’s about $40. It doesn’t seem like much but I highly suggest them.

For storage most people remove the circular center hatch and install the square hatch, install it up/down instead of side to side. Then move the stock circular hatch to the front. I keep my Lowrance battery in the front circle hatch.

ETA: I believe the compass now comes with kickup fins on the factory drive(still forward only) or most shops will let you upgrade to the 180 If you want.

Anyone have any input on the FeelFree Lure II Tandem

I know this brand was questionable a few years ago. Not sure if they worked through the issues they were having, which I don't even recall what those issues were. I guess it's possible I'm mis-remembering. I like the setup of this boat and the price point, but not sure if anyone here has any positive or negative experiences with owning one.

Just checked on the Hobie site to make sure, the Compass now comes with the 180 drive. I know the 180 had only been available on the camo, but looks to be available on all colours now.
