This is the only reason I wish I had a kayak. The ability to be able to make a quick trip without having to mess with a boat and trailer is definitely a pro in the kayak column. Hopefully yall get on them. Me and DrunkenCrawfish had a fairly slow day with the trout last time out. Ended up with 6 I think.

I will literally throw topwaters all day long if I'm still getting blowups. It's hands down my favorite way to catch fish.

I'm heading down to PAC next weekend with a large group (7 kayaks). We have a few spots we're going to try out and hoping we can get on some specs and reds. Any lures you guys recommend for that area? I have some spoons, spinner baits, and some top waters that I'm going to try out already.

Both of the above. Also tried Gulp and got no bites.

Do any of you use clips so you can change out your lures more easily? I am debating on getting them because I always like to have one rigged for live/dead bait and I don't carry more than 3 rods.

I have thought about it, but wet hands and those swivel clips don't always work. I can usually just tie a new bait on as easily as I could clip it.

I use these, tactical angler power clips is what they're called, the 50lb versions, mainly because if something isn't working I'll swap to something else and don't want to have to cut/retie every time. Especially since I'm using braid with a leader, I'd have to redo my leader just about every trip out.

The Tactical Anglers are the same as this. I use the 50lb as well.

Perfect. I have smooth gold and hammered copper. Do you go weedless or normal?

Maybe I need to try spoons more often. I just don't like them though.

I always have one on for reds. Ai can skim it, swim it, or make it flutter. I like the ones with the red rubber guard that hides the swivel

Crab Lady Launch. We can coordinate a time. I think it's off of Landing road. I live in Youngsville and will be taking I10 West.
