How do kickstarters work? If they don’t actually make it to production are you out $2700?

From what I read, you only get charged if the Kickstarter reaches their funding goal. If the Kickstarter campaign doesn't reach their funding goal by the fundraising end date, your card never gets charged. But the Blue Sky goal was $60k and they're at $215k raised as of this morning. I had messaged them a few days ago with a couple of questions about the boat and the rep's response mentioned they were targeting June to start shipping.

Was looking at saving up to buy a PA-14 sometime this summer, but the Blue Sky boat is making me consider jumping on board the Kickstart savings. The layout with the front porch/back porch storage and their seat looks appealing. Got another week or so to mull it over before the kickstart deadline.

I just switched from ratchet-strapping my Outback to my trailer to using two pieces of cut-to-length vinyl-wrapped chain. clipped inside to eye bolt on trailer cross beam, figured length, cut it, clip to eye bolt on outside of frame, front and back. shoulda done it years ago.

I use ratchet straps. I just make sure not to ratchet too tight.

Been using cam straps for 4 years, no kayaks have fallen off the truck/trailer yet!

Tried them today for the first time today and I’m pretty damn impressed. Put 2 across middle and one on front handle. Asides from bouncing a little on hwy 90 roller coaster, they were not moving much at all.

Do y’all use them on front and rear also?

Do the hulls have enclosed storage now? I saw a video from about a year ago when it was just in prototype and they did not but the guy demoing said they probably would for release.

Yep. 4 hatches (2 on each pontoon). Looks like the inside of each pontoon is one huge storage area without any dividers, so it looks like it can fit a lot.

Nice, I had no idea they could break down so easy, that's yet another tick in the pros column.

New trailer I picked up last week. Looking forward to trying her out as soon as the tropical storm winds lay down

Will be hauling another PA up top. Any ideas on what I can do on top deck? I’m thinking PVC runners somehow.

Use the gray PVC, Lowe’s sells some galvanized channel tubing that you can bolt down first and if works well.

2 trout right away at the first stop, I thought for sure It would be a great day. Not a single other fish after what. It rained, was windy, and cold. I hadn’t fished since January and hadn’t paddled since October and did around 10 miles today, I’ll be sore tomorrow.

We rented the camper down there but you’d have to leave Lafayette before 3 to make the 5:30 sign in. If it me I’d try to get a room around Houma to cut down on drive time.

Must have just missed ya, did see alot of the Laffy kayak/ Hobie guide crew but yeah that weather was pure hell and water was moving, shite didnt unload until 9:30.
Headed east and nothing, made the circle and hit the nets
Caught a couple dinks on 1/4 lemonheads but no keepers until i switched to suspended twitch
Only 2 fish made the ride back.
Buddy did find some reds about 1 mile north of the nets but couldn't gettem to bite on anything
Scratch Match and April on my saltwater fishing calendar
