They've got a great product now with a 10 year warranty. Shame on them.

I'm standing here now at Bass pro in Spanish Fort. This thing is beautiful. Only thing is they want you to buy a 21ft Mako. They won't sell them by themselves:(

The backorder on some models of the new V6 and V8 is up to 20 months. As of now, the only model I’m aware of backordered that long is the V8 Verados. Many things have snowballed to create a ‘perfect storm’ for manufacturing and availability. Unprecedented demand, process changes, hiring and training new employees, Yamaha’s own availability issues, parts supply chain facing many of the same issues, China tariffs and trade war, holdups in shipping and customs because of strikes and tariffs, plus many more. We have been fighting with this since last year’s realeases. Still waiting on engines that were ordered in Feb-March of 2018.

It would be foolish on Mercury’s part to release another new engine at this point with the current availability problems. Adding even more demand to an already stressed production line is not the answer. If there’s anything coming in this supposed June announcement from Mercury Racing, I think it’ll be a 450hp (even up to 500) version of the current supercharged 6 cylinder 400R Verado. Less weight, more power, less money than the Yamaha 425, and it’s made in the USA.

I'm gonna need a 25" when the time comes to repower my old 24V Kenner.

My friend bought a 2019 Nitro Z21 , loaded from Bass Pro in Denham. Before he made his first payment, he tore the siege off the bottom of the boat on a stump. Insurance stepped up and was going to replace the lower unit housing, but they didn’t have any that were available for the 2019 4 stroke Merc XS Pro 250. He got the runaround from Bass Pro and Merc about the lack of availability.

5 WHOLE MONTHS LATER!!!

Finally, after getting the insurance company really involved, Cabelas in Gonzales had to pull a brand new entire lower unit off of a 2019 Ranger that they had on the lot and swapped out the whole thing.

The motor is a beast, but the whole ordeal was a huge pain in the arse, especially considering the amount of money he spent

Prime example of a big company not thinking about their brand first and foremost. Swapping out that LU would have given BP an extreme amount of FREE advertisement but big companies can’t operate with logic and quickness, they have to be compelled.

If you look up prices for 250hp...

Yamaha is more expensive than Mercury. But with this Mercury outboard shortage would a dealer price gouging you because there's not a lot available?
I've had 2 dealerships tell me that the Mercury cost for more $4000. bullshite?

The price of the 250 pro xs did go up. Looking at my price sheets here is base price for the 2 stroke vs the new 4 stroke:

2018 250L ProXS Torquemaster (2 stroke) - $18,945

2019 250L ProXS Touquemaster (4 stroke) - $19,890

This is base price directly off the price sheet.
