Is there any love for an Airdale here? Thinking about one as I've been told they can be trained to do most anything and are very hearty breed.

My cousin had them when I was a kid. The people down the road had Chow Chow that came up in the yard and attacked a small poodle. The airdale bit that chow chow on the skull and killed it. Punctured it's skull.

My brother had a lab/cur mix she was a mello dog. She would lay in front of the storm door and not move. I would literally slide her across the floor while opening the door to go inside the house. She couldn't care less.

I’m sure you have fine dogs. And that is exactly what they are intended to do. I wish all breeds that were built to do those things, could consistently do them.

A friend of mine had a Rhodesian. He called him Cagey because he couldn't be caged. Dog was all over town and would look both ways before crossing the road. No kidding.

I have a Treeing Feist. He is 16 months old and steadily becoming a fantastic squirrel dog. He sleeps in the bed with me and the wife (no pics) every night but once I take him out into the woods a switch flips and he’s no longer a house dog and immediately becomes a hunting dog. I plan to get another one that is black and white in a few years.

Giving English Setters some love. She’ll be two in August. Very sweet around dogs and people. Not a fan of cats but neither is dad. Hunts everything, points hard and to my surprise retrieves, but turns it off and loves the couch. Try’s very hard to sneak on dad’s bed. Sheds a good bit but longer hair so not as bad as a lab.

My dad had English Setters & GSP, both great hunters. Another versatile dog is English Cockers.
Good bird dog and are very sweet & happy breed.

Max is a 5 yr old Anatolian Shepherd livestock guard dog. He is 8 months old in the picture. He’s a tripod now and is 130lb. No critters bother our home. Not only is he a great guard dog with the critters, Everyone who comes to our home is intimidated by him. That is, until he determines you are friend and not foe, at which time he switches from protector to wanting belly rubs. When I am outside, he is by my side. If I sit, he sits, if I lay on the ground he lays next to me or across me. Max is the BEST dog EVER!!

A mal. They’re great for so many reasons, but there’s nothing in the physical on this side of the grave that loves you like they do. It’s probably more obsessed than anything, but they’re great. We are an active family. We need a dog to keep up and the batteries can somehow recharge with a 2 minute nap. Great with kids and wildly patient with other animals. She herded the rabbit my wife had on many occasions for us. Heck, if we are at the beach or a river, she herds us as well. You can’t have too much linear distance up and down the shoreline between each other or she’s coming to herd us up. They love their people and take their job seriously.

I will get down voted to oblivion on here but wife and I have rescued pit bulls for about 15 years. The three I kept are sweetest dogs i ever had, some should get bullet.
Believe it or not, the meanest dog i ever owned was a redbone coon hound. She wasn't scared of hogs though

The first Pit I owned as a teenager is responsible for saving 4 little girls in the Sabine River, Burr Ferry LA.
