From your user name and looks of your house it looks like it was stolen in the NOLA area, maybe lakeview area. If so, I think you are shite out of luck. This is pretty common and I dont think you will be seeing the boat again.

IN!

good luck Op. definitely set some craigslist and facebook alerts so that you are told when the motor and what not hit the market. Do it in like a 500 mile radius.

ETA: I'd recommend knocking on a ton of doors up and down your street to see if anyone else has video cams. Go down a couple of blocks. Tons of people have cams these days.

Also check the other way before they hooked up your boat. May be easier to grab a plate that way.

They'll cover everything but my limits are too low w/ the increased value of the boat

the value doesn't go up because you added a trolling motor and an e-tec. it just makes it easier to sell.

We should go back to lopping off fingers and hands.

I don't think "We" ever lopped off hands. Muslims lop of hands. They do that because it forces the thief to eat with their "unclean" hand (the hand they wipe their arse with). As a result they are no longer welcome at anyone's dinner table. At least that's the story I got.

"We" use to hang horse thieves. Hanging gets my vote. If we lop off our thieves hand, they will probably just use it as an excuse to draw disability or go steal a prosthetic hand....lol.

Thanks! I found 2 neighbors with cameras. 1 had it. The other lady who should have had a better video of it, claims she didn't have it. Will check more neighbors today.

So you're saying a 2003 boat with a 2003 140 suzuki motor will sell for the same price as a 2003 boat with a 2016 150 e-tec and a minn kota iPilot will sell for the same price?

if you insure for declared value it most certainly matters.
I’ve increased my insured value every time I’ve repowered

I've never insured a boat as I've never owned one worth over $10k. But if you buy a boat worth say $30k and own it for 10 years, how many people lower their insurance as it depreciates? Not many I'd assume? If you then repower and say its worth $35k in 5 years with depreciation plus a new motor. I mean realistically sure you aren't fully insured, but you can't be perfect. You saved a little money with less insurance too.

Pray that they find the boat. Do you have a tracking device or anything like that on it?

I don’t want to derail but boat insurance is cheap.
my 40K declared value is less than 100/mo including 1MM liability

How do I do this? Been trying to figure out CL alert for 10 minutes. Don't see the "email alert" link that google claims is there.

Its been awhile since I've done it. Did you try search tempest the craigslist search engine? FB one is pretty easy and on the main market page I believe?

ETA: from google so I haven't tried it:
First, go to Craigslist.org and create a search exactly the way you want it. Then, click the email alert link and it will create the alert for you. Then it will take you to the alerts page where you can edit or delete your search alerts.

the "email alert" link isn't there but if I save my search then go to saved searches I can edit it there and ask for an email alert.
