I have a 900x200 pond, I stocked it with fish I caught in a canal. Should my pond be public access?

Is that even legal?

Oh and, that's not even the same argument. Why pride is using the fish argument is beyond me, because the simple fact of that matter is that the argument about these canals is that they are connected to public waters, and should be public. A pond is not.

I've never heard this argument used for freshwater areas, and the argument in saltwater areas centers around tidal influence. If it is tidally influenced, the argument is that it should be public.

You're comparing public versus private water laws of a State that has more wetlands than almost every other state combined. Of course its going to be more difficult to regulate and get 'correct' in Louisiana.

80 years ago, this pound was fed by a bayou.

As water was redirected, the bayou became a ditch. Land appeared between the pond and the ditch. We dug the pond deeper and raised the land between the two.

Now the natural low is a stocked provate pond.

The bayou is now a ditch.

...conundrum.

If you aren't trashy, I might let you fish.

But if you get all entitled and think you can always come fish, we will have a falling out

There are basic fundamentals your side is either not getting, or is just ignoring

no, the thing "your side" keeps ignoring and refusing to see, is that based on the wording the law uses to say whats private vs public water, besides mississippi river and other rivers, lake ponchartrain and lake marpas, the entire marsh of south louisiana is private so fishing is outlawed in any marsh anywhere in the state of louisiana.

and you are sitting here saying that that is a fair interpretation of which waters in the state are public and perfectly fine by you

I think it is 48 or 49 other states that actually fit my agenda.

So yes, when you are the 1 person calling the other 49 people assholes, you yourself may be the a-hole.....

Especially when your reputation is that of being the 2nd biggest a-hole at almost everything

As its been discussed above, there's obviously other and different circumstances as to why the law is written the way it is in LA. There's not a 1 size fits all law or statute to the regulation or waterways.

In my professional opinion, you probably have bigger issues than public/private depending on when you did all of this...lol.

You do not own a body of water unless it's 100% on your property. Interconnected waterways are public.

If you're sarcastic, we'd get along just fine.

If you're serious, you can disappear pretty easy out here

That is not true according to Louisiana Law. That's why this discussion is always brought up
