So all deer/duck season there are weekly threads calling trespassers the scum of the earth and everyone agrees how much they suck.

However, once hunting season ends and you launch a boat you feel that you can go wherever you want and bitch about people blocking off canals that they own.

so basically, in the eyes of the OB, trespassing is not allowed when hunting, but is perfectly fine when fishing?

I'll hang up and listen

We pay taxes

Our taxes are used to maintain the public waterways

Troy landry takes the public water that is maintained by taxpayers money into his canal

He then gates canal and does not let public taxpayers on some of the water they paid taxes to maintain

There is a big difference between crossing a fence on land and complaining about waters being blocked off that would be public in damn near every other state.

It only matters if the deer scored 120 or above.

Our public taxdollars go to everything and anything that is owned and maintained by the state, correct?

I understand more than most

I also understnad we live in one of the only states in which you can block off a canal.

But sure, I am sure LA is the one state that has it all figured out, we usually are #1 in making good decisions from a govt perspective

You do realize the people that own those private waterways have to pay property tax on them right? How much of those property taxes come out of your pocket?

Before that canal was built, there were zero fish, as it was land

The cut the canal, take the water and the fish that was public, and then gate it off and claim the water and fish as their own.

Like I said, there is a reason, Louisiana, the worst or second worst state in everything from a govt run perspective, is unique on how they view this.

The sentence should end the entire discussion.

If it’s gates, how is the water way being maintained by taxpayers money?

That isnt what I said

The water, and fish, that filled their waterway, was taken from the public

Of course it should

Everyone of the baws in here complains about LA being corrupt and one of the worst run states

There is a reason LA is unique with this law. Someone, somewhere, is getting their palms greased for it

So the trees and the wildlife on private hunting land came from the public too, I guess we should get a free for all on that too.

That’s like saying since the deer on my property are the state’s deer, then my property is open to public hunting.
