I am going with fishing spider based on size and location.

Just FYI, those frickers can jump OFF the water.

We were bream fishing in some cypress trees one day and my wife was laying down in back of boat reading a book

I got hung on a limb and jerked and one of those fell on her book. The whole lake heard her!

I read that and then looked at your AVI and I swear I'm still laughing 10 minutes later.

A buddy and I found a tarantula as kids in CenLa. I would say it was a loose pet but another friend found one over 20 miles away at his house on the same day.

Sometimes they'd have their egg sacks attached to the bellies of the females that made them look even bigger.

Never ever step on a pregnant spider, inside especially, as there is an explosion of live tiny baby spiders that shoots about 3 feet in every direction. Learned that the hard way. Fiamethrower is the appropriate action.

They are so big that when they climb up a tree, you can hear their legs hitting the bark.

I’ve never heard any spider make any noise. But these are so big you can hear them crawl.

Saw a tarantula in Grant Parish a few years ago. It was crossing a red dirt road. Biggest spider I have ever seen. If you you flip them on their back, they can flip back over like a fricking ninja.

Folks here might not believe it, but the tarantula I saw had solid black fangs that had to be an eighth of an inch wide and an inch long. I can only imagine what it would be like if it sank those mothers into soft flesh.

We found those tarantulas as kids close to Grant. People don't believe me when I tell the story sometimes, but I still can't figure out if we have a population of them here in parts of LA or they are just some how ending up here occasionally.

A buddy's dad also tells a story about waking up one morning and finding a scorpion in his bed in Louisiana, many many years ago. frick spiders, scorpions, and danger snakes.

We definitely have scorpions here in Rapides Parish. My parents added on to their house and apparently some hatched a few weeks after the addition was completed. We had them in the house for a few weeks. I still don’t know how they got into the house.
